EYELASH EXTENSION CURLS, LENGTH, AND THICKNESS: BASIC THINGS TO KNOW

Here are the basic things you need to know about eyelash extension curls, lengths, and thickness. But first, What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are synthetic fibers that are semi-permanently hand-glued on natural lashes. There are also different types of eyelash extensions, to know more about them, click here. Now, let’s proceed to the basics things to know about eyelash extension curls, lengths, and thickness.

The different curls of eyelash extensions:

The eyelash extension curls that are usually used:

Shown is an illustration of the different eyelash extension curls, from J curl to B, to C, to CC, to D, to L, to L+ curl

J CURL LASHES - This eyelash extension curl is looking like a naturally straight lash. It has the least curl among the different eyelash extension curls. It is also best used for clients who want a "conservative look". This is also the usual curl that can be used for male clients who want eyelash extensions without looking too feminine.

B CURL LASHES - This eyelash extension curl has a simple lash curl yet with a little more lift than J Curl lashes. This is a good option for clients with straight lashes.

C CURL LASHES - One of the most popular curl lashes. This eyelash extension curl has a slight, natural curl often used for customers who are looking to achieve a very natural look. This type of curl does not open the eye much, therefore, might not be the best choice for people who have “closed eyes”

CC CURL LASHES - This eyelash extension curl is one of the most often used curl types, can carry especially during volume application. This curl allows an open-up look for the eye. It picks up the lashes that are growing down and creates a fresh and rested look for clients.

D CURL LASHES - It is very similar to C Curl. This eyelash extension curl is also trendy because it gives more lift and shows a more visible lash line. It provides one of the most lifts and tends that can give the eyes dramatic effects.

L CURL LASHES - This eyelash extension curl has a similar shape to a reversed L, only that it’s slightly tilted downwards. This curl best picks up natural lashes that come from deep-set eyes. It’s also best used to pick up natural lashes that grow downward and create a more naturally opened-up eye look.

L+ CURL LASHES - L+ curl lashes look similar to the “L” curl, only that it has an additional bent angle. This eyelash extension curl also provides a lift to lash lines. This is another option for clients who have a straight natural lash.

The different lengths of eyelash extensions:

As there is a variety in curls of lashes, we expect that there is also a variety in its length. Yes, not all lashes are of the same lengths, some are shorter than others, and some are longer than others. However, there is only a range in its length.

For classic eyelash extensions sets, the most commonly used thickness is 0.15mm

The most commonly used thicknesses for volume eyelash extensions sets are 0.03 to 0.10 depending on the fullness.

The most commonly used thicknesses for mega volume eyelash extensions sets are 0.03, 0.05 & 0.07 depending on the fullness.

The most commonly used thicknesses for hybrid eyelash extensions sets are 0.15mm for the classics and 0.3, to 0.10 for the fans, depending on the fullness.

For additional information.

Always remember that wearing eyelash extensions that are too long or too wide for your client's natural lashes can break the natural eyelashes over time. You need to make sure that when applying eyelash extensions to your clients you choose the ones that are right for their lashes.

> The thicker and longer your client’s natural lashes are, the thicker and longer eyelash extensions can be applied to them, this is because thick and long natural lashes are more capable of carrying more weight and long eyelash extensions.

> The thinner and shorter your client’s natural lashes are, the thinner and shorter the eyelash extensions can be applied to them. This is to make sure that the eyelash extensions won't weigh the natural lashes down.

> The healthier and the fuller your client’s natural lashes are, the more you can play with the length of the eyelash extensions you’ll be applying.

> Choosing the wrong length and thickness of eyelash extensions for a client could result in serious damage to their lashes! Too much weight on natural lashes will cause breakage to the natural lashes and possibly permanently make the natural lashes thinner, shorter, and weaker.
